Operation Christmas Child 2014
In early December, 1st Harwell’s Explorer scouts were challenged with making up ‘shoe box gifts’ for children in less developed countries, less fortunate than ourselves at Christmas. The explorers were also challenged with involving the other group sections by encouraging them to contribute by making there own shoe box gifts to donate!
After teams were sent out to brief the younger sections, the boxes were collected back in before the posting deadline to the less fortunate children. In total there were over 35 shoe boxes from the whole group going to children who else wouldn’t have anything to open on Christmas Day. Cracking effort!
